GTA 6 Map: Every Confirmed Region in Leonida

Updated October 30, 2026: Rockstar has not released a full map. This list will change once the game is out on November 19.

GTA 6 takes place in Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional version of Florida. Rockstar’s official GTA VI website names six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Everything else you see on fan maps is built from trailers and screenshots, not from an official map.

The six official regions at a glance

These are the six places listed as “Explore” links on Rockstar’s GTA VI site. The short descriptions below are quoted from Rockstar’s own location write-ups, first published with Trailer 2 in May 2025.

What each region is like

Vice City

The main city and the heart of the story. Rockstar describes neighborhoods that run from art deco beaches to street markets and a major cruise port. Named spots tied to Vice City in Rockstar’s materials include Ocean Beach and Little Cuba.

Leonida Keys

A laid-back island chain. Jason lives here at the start, working for local drug runners, and Brian Heder runs a boat yard in the Keys with his wife Lori.

Grassrivers

Leonida’s swamp country. Rockstar says alligators are the best-known danger in the mangroves, but not the deadliest one.

Port Gellhorn

A former tourist town that has fallen on hard times. Rockstar says its economy now runs on cheap liquor, painkillers and energy drinks.

Ambrosia

Sugar country. The Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides most of the jobs, and Rockstar says a local biker gang provides “almost everything else.”

Mount Kalaga

Listed as Mount Kalaga National Park in coverage of the site. It offers hunting, fishing and off-road trails, and its backwoods are home to people who want to stay far away from the government.

How big is the GTA 6 map?

Rockstar has not published a size in square miles or kilometers. In a Game Informer preview in September 2026, Rockstar North’s Aaron Garbut said Leonida is the largest world Rockstar has made “by some degree.” Coverage of that preview, including from Dexerto, reports the map as roughly twice the size of GTA 5’s Los Santos and Blaine County. Treat any exact figure you see online as a fan estimate.

Rockstar’s narrative lead Rupert Humphries also made it clear the story will not take you everywhere: “We don’t have time to take you everywhere.” So some areas will only be found by exploring.

Other place names you will hear

• Leonida Penitentiary: where Lucia served time, named in her official bio.
• Ocean Beach: home of the garage in the free Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus (see our pre-order bonus guide).
• Watson Bay, Stockyard and Lake Leonida: named in Rockstar’s Ultimate Edition business list, per GTA Boss. See Standard vs Ultimate Edition.
• Kelly County: seen as on-screen text in Trailer 1. Rockstar has not said where it sits.

Fan maps also show many district names taken from the 2022 leak. Those are not confirmed.
