GTA 6 Standard vs Ultimate Edition: Is the $99.99 Version Worth It?
GTA 6 comes in two editions: Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. Both include the exact same game and story. The extra $20 for Ultimate buys you a bundle of in-game vehicles, weapons, clothing, shops and a raid location that unlock as you play through the story. If you only care about the main game, Standard is enough. If you want a head start on cars, guns and customisation, Ultimate is a fair deal for long-term players.

Is the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition worth it?
Get Ultimate if:
- You plan to spend dozens of hours in Leonida and love collecting cars and customising characters.
- You want early access to strong pistols, a fast sports car and a boat with an explosives crate, which make the early game easier.
- $20 is a small extra on top of an $80 purchase for you.
Stick with Standard if:
- You mainly want the story. The Ultimate content does not add missions to the main campaign.
- You are not sure how much you will play. You can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade later, so there is no rush.
- You prefer earning cars and gear through normal play.
Our take: since the upgrade can be bought at any time, buying Standard first and upgrading later costs you nothing in terms of access. The only reason to buy Ultimate on day one is if you already know you want the extras from the very start.
Physical vs digital
Whichever edition you choose, the boxed version has no disc. It contains a download code. Physical pre-orders get the Vintage Vice City Pack while supplies last, but the free GTA+ month only comes with digital pre-orders on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
