Rockstar has not announced an official size, and the Xbox Series X|S size has not been spotted yet. Treat 210 GB as the minimum and plan for more once a launch patch lands.

Why is GTA 6 so big?
GTA 6 is set in Leonida, Rockstar’s take on Florida, with Vice City and a large surrounding state. It has two playable leads, Jason and Lucia, a dense open world, and detailed wildlife and NPCs. Rockstar has also said the boxed version contains a download code instead of a disc, which suggests the game is too large to ship on a single PS5 disc.
How to free up space for GTA 6
- Delete games you have finished. Your saves stay safe on PS5 (and in PS Plus cloud saves) and in Xbox cloud saves.
- Remove big multiplayer games you rarely play. Call of Duty, Warzone and other live games often take 100 GB or more.
- Move PS4 or Xbox One games to a USB drive. PS5 and Series X|S can store and play last-gen games from an external drive, freeing internal SSD space for GTA 6.
- Add storage. On PS5 you can install an M.2 NVMe SSD. On Xbox Series X|S you need an official expansion card, because new Series X|S games cannot run from a normal USB drive.
- Clear it before November 12. That is when GTA 6 pre-loading opens, and you want the download to start right away.
